Hikers meet every Wednesday during the Fall to explore great day hikes in the area. The group meets at 8:45 AM at the Presbyterian Church to carpool and usually returns by 3 PM, sometimes leaving earlier and sometimes returning later depending on the hike. We hike until November if weather permits. Due to the accumulated snowpack in the mountains, the club does not hike in the spring. Instead, we offer a City Walks group as a springtime alternative.
Hiking is a great way to enjoy the outdoors with other women who enjoy fairly strenuous exercise. Our hikes vary in length and elevation gain. Beginners are welcome, but should start on one of our easier hikes. Note that, in general, 1,000 feet or more of elevation gain over 1 mile is considered steep. Dogs on leash are invited to come along. Hikers hike at their own risk and assume responsibility for their own safety. Since weather and snow levels often vary, we may juggle dates and hikes accordingly. Be sure to sign up with Mary O. Galloway or Monica Robbins so you will receive email notification of any change in plans. Pack a lunch and come join us!
We are finished hiking for this year. See you next September!
